Location

Polson, MT is tucked in northwestern Montana along Flathead Lake. The short and scenic hour long drive north on Hwy 93 from Missoula, makes Polson an excellent spot for a weekend away.

For a town of 4,000 people Polson manages to offer a wide selection of amenities. For lodging, choose between rustic B&B's to quaint motels, rent a cabin for the week or pitch a tent at one of the campgrounds. Unless you demand glamour, you should be able to find a lovely place to rest your head.

Have no fear when the tummy starts to rumble, you won't have to go far for a variety of international and American cuisines. Let your tastebuds choose the way!

Activities

Nestled next to the largest freshwater lake in the west, you can guess what activities rule the area. Try your hand boating, fishing, and swimming in Flathead Lake. If you start to prune from all your time in the water, take a break and have a picnic and do a bit of hiking on Wildhorse Island, a 2,165-acre state park.

Don't miss the Pablo Wildlife Refuge, a great spot for spotting and viewing an abundance of waterfowl including rudding ducks, loons, mallards, and trumpeter swans.

  Polson is a festival hub, but don't miss the biggest and best, the Annual Cherry Festival, held in July. This festival is a cherry harvest celebration with food, fun, and fabulous times!

Getting Here

Polson Montana is an easy drive north from Missoula. This beautiful, scenic drive through Swan Valley and past the Mission Mountains is an experience all its own. An hour will pass before you realize any time has gone.

From Missoula, take I-90 west to Hwy 93 north to Polson. Turn left on 8th St East and a left on 7th Ave E and you are in the heart of downtown Polson. Have a great visit!
